Installation
The importance of installation of metal structures cannot be overestimated in case of any construction. The steel structures bear the main share of load, and the slightest errors and flaws must be eliminated in the stage of technical supervision, or it may cause much more serious problems in the future.
There are a lot of methods to join the elements of erected structure; all of them are unified and described in the corresponding normative documentation. Joints can be welded, bolted or connected in other similar ways; the connection type is given in project.
ASSEMBLY OF METAL STRUCTURES IS DONE IN SEVERAL MAIN STAGES; DURATION OF STAGES CAN VARY, HOWEVER, THEY ALWAYS HAVE TO BE DONE:
- Preparation of site: the important stage in building a larger structure like shopping centre or a big storehouse. Normally includes levelling and cleaning of the territory.
AS A RULE, PREPARATION IS DONE BY THE MAIN CONTRACTOR:
- Installation of the main bearing pillars normally with bolted connections. Within the process of installation and after its completion the pillars are repeatedly checked for conformity with the project – they will carry the loads of the whole building;
- The arched girders are fixed in the upper part of the structure using bolted connections and welded joints;
- Installation of the side framing structures is done.
The next step includes covering the side frame structures with sheeting and finishing of the building. Installation requires using of special tools, the machines like cranes and hoists. At the moment we have 2 teams of specialists – installation experts, who have invaluable experience and are capable to install both simple and complex structures. The team of workers can аpproximately installs 80 tons of structures in a month.
